Attic spaces have a strong charisma, but if we want to use it wisely, we must adjust also furniture into it. We designed the interior of attic apartment in superstructure with visible truss to not suppress the airy attic space and at the same time to meet the demands of its residents. Furniture is designed and made-to-measure what retains a feeling of an atypical space and takes full advantage of its capability.

Dining table as a continuation of the kitchen island

We proposed a dinig table as a part of the kitchen island, which is the dominant element of a day zone of the attic apartment. The height of the dining table is the same as the height of the kitchen worktop, so we had to use chairs with special seating height. They had to be higher than traditional dining chairs but lower than the bar chairs.

Attic living room with a corner sofa

Attic living room space is defined by construction components of roof truss structure. Living room white color set is simple and airy and stands out on green wall behind the TV. We count to the living room also library under worktop of the kitchen island. The variaty of light sources allows variability of night scenes and lighting effects.

Truss structure as a natural division of spaces

There were plasterboard walls at the place of wooden truss in the original proposal. It would take away attic character of this space so we let the roof admitted. It makes space unique and gives it a charisma. Structural attic elements of the roof also naturally separate functional units in a day-zone.

Lighting diversity

In the space of day-zone we proposed three types of lights that allow uy to change the illumination according to our demands in light. Spot lamps in plasterboard cast shadows and create mood lighting. Intensity of the suspension chandaliers can be controlled. Smaller lamps hanging above the kitchen provide enough lighting needed for kitchen work.

Green-white attic kitchen with multifunctional island

Multifunctional kitchen attic island dominates in the day-zone. It integrates working area of the kitchen with sink, hob and kitchen cabinets and dining table. From the side of living room it also serves a function as library. We designed kitchen set in combination of green color in high cabinets and cabinets under the white worktop.
